soups. The meat is supposed to serve a variety of sauces and garnish, such as vegetables, potatoes. A significant place in the British menu occupy different puddings, porridge, the famous "oatmeal". Popular drinks are tea with milk, beer.

If you ask me to name some typical English
dishes, I probably say ‘Fish and chips’ and stop.
In
fact you could even say that the British don't eat much British food. The most typical thing to eat for dinner is "meat and two eggs". This consists of a piece of meat accompanied by two different boiled vegetables. This is covered with "gravy" which is a sauce made with the juice that was obtained when the meat was cooked. One of the vegetables is almost always potatoes. The British eat a lot of potatoes.
There are hundreds of sweet puddings in England but each pudding begins with the same basic ingredients of milk, sugar, eggs, flour and butter. Many of the puddings involve fresh fruit such as raspberries or strawberries, custard, cream, and cakes.

Americans eat a lot. They have three meals a day:
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the morning Americans have cereal or
scrambled eggs, milk or orange juice.
Chicken or fish, fried potatoes, vegetable salads, and desert: this is the most common menu for lunch. Dinner is probably the most important meal of the day, some people have family dinner, when all members of family have to be there.
For dinner Americans usually have meat, fried or baked potatoes with ketchup or sour cream, corn, peas, sometimes macaroni and cheese or spaghetti; ice-cream, fruit or cake may be for dessert.
Turkey, ham and apple pie are traditional for Christmas and Thanksgiving Day dinners

potatoes and red cabbage. The Germans love pork, beef and fish, eat a lot of frankfurters, sausages, and eggs. For dessert they prefer fruit salads. It is believed that beer is a traditional German drink, as for soft they prefer coffee with milk.
