Слайд 6The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is
a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarchy.
This means that
Great Britain is governed by the Parliament and the Queen is the Head of State. She has mostly representative functions.

of Parliament which consists of two chambers:
the House of Lords

House of Commons

his Cabinet.
The Government is usually formed by the political
party which is supported by the majority in the House of Commons. The Prime Minister chooses ministers and forms Cabinet.
There are three main political parties in the UK: the Conservative Party, the Liberal Party and the Labor Party.
