What are vertebrates again?Animals with a backbone!Vertebrates can be sorted into several groups.They’re classified by traits they have in common.

30,000 different kinds of fish in all.
They come in many
sizes and shapes, from the tiny minnow to the great white shark!

fish.
Most fish have body temperatures that vary with the temperature
of the environment.Most fish also have fins that help them steer and balance in the water.

head are called gills.

and allows the fish to “breathe” underwater.They are also covered with scales, which are hard, and help to protect them.

An amphibian is a vertebrate that usually
lives in water after hatching from an egg, but as an adult can live on land.
