Слайд 8Тhe “Melting Pot”
The population of the country is more than
250 million people.
Americans are made up from nearly all races
and nations. That’s why the USA is called “the melting pot”. The largest cities are: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, San- Francisco, Washington and others.

America is famous for
its skyscrapers. The tallest building in the world is in
Chicago. Its name is the Sears Tower
Слайд 10The Twin Towers in New York
These towers were the
proud of America. They were destroyed by airplanes. Now you
can find only the memorial to these towers.
Слайд 11The statue of Liberty in New York.
It was built in
New York Harbor in 1886. This Statue was a gift
from the people of France. About 12 million immigrants passed through New York when they came to America. The Statue of Liberty is Americas symbol of Freedom.

It is the most famous building
in the world. It’s very tall. Here you can visit
the Observatory. Visibility on clear day- 80 miles. The Observatory is on the 102 nd floor of the Empire state Building. it’s the worlds greatest TV tower. It is 1, 454 feet tall.

The White House is the
beautiful home of every President of the United States. This
is the oldest public building in Washington D.C. It has the most famous address -1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Consist of 132 rooms. Open for tours daily: 9.00 a. m- 3. 45 p.m.

Here you can see the history
of flight, from the first plane flown by the Wright
brothers to the Apollo space ship.

It has one of the world’s finest collections
of modern and contemporary art. This museum was designed by
the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Look at its shape!

It is on the river Niagara. It is linked
2 Great Lakes: The Erie and the Ontario. The river
is the border between the USA and Canada.

Sequoias are giant trees and they’re very old.
They’re huge. The one in the picture is over a
thousand years old. You saw a car drive through an arch in the tree. This National Park in California.

The USA is a great country.
There are many unusual and beautiful places and sights to
see. The tourists of the world are fond of changing in the American life. It has an interesting history and full of hope in the future. America is an example of progress.
