The Times is a daily national newspaper published in

the United Kingdom since 1785 when it was known as

The Daily Universal Register. The Times and its sister paper The Sunday Times are published by Times Newspapers Limited, headed by Rupert Murdoch. The Times is the original "Times" newspaper, lending its name to many other papers around the world, such as The New York Times, The Times of India, The Straits Times, The Times of Malta and The Irish Times.
The newspaper was printed in broadsheet format for 219 years, but switched to compact size in 2004 partly in an attempt to appeal to younger readers and partly to appeal to commuters using public transport. The newspaper's cover price in the United Kingdom is 90p on weekdays (30p for students at some university campus shops) and £1.50 on Saturday.

The Financial Times (FT) is a British international business newspaper.

It is a morning daily newspaper published in the Borough

of Southwark, London and printed at 22 sites. Its primary rival is New York City-based The Wall Street Journal.
Founded in 1888 by James Sheridan and his brother, The FT specialises in business and financial news. Printed as a broadsheet on light salmon paper, the FT is the only paper in the UK providing full daily reports on the London Stock Exchange and world markets.

founded by Colonel Arthur B. Sleigh in June 1855 as the Daily Telegraph and Courier. Owned by David and Frederick Barclay, The Telegraph has the ninth largest daily UK newspaper circulation.
In January 2009, the Telegraph was the highest selling British 'quality' paper, with a certified average daily circulation of 842,912. This compared with a circulation of 617,483 for The Times, 358,844 for The Guardian.

It was first published on 2 November 1978, and was

the first new national paper to be launched since the Daily Mirror in 1903.

a broadsheet, with photographs printed both in color as well as in black and white. The first issue reported on the death of actress Grace Kelly. Colorful and bold, with many large diagrams, charts, and photographs, it contrasted with the relatively colorless papers of the time such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
