based on the collection of Sir Hans Sloane. Sir Hans

Sloane is a well know scientist as well as physician. The museum was first opened for the public to visit was on January 15, 1759. The museum was located in the Montagu house in Bloomsbury. The expansion of the museum nearly required two and a half centuries.
