Symbols are not just isolated objects: symbols mean something

to the people who understand and use them.
The more people treat a symbol respectfully, the more it may come to represent good things; the more people treat a symbol disrespectfully, the more it may come to represent negative things

Opinions differ greatly and it’s impossible to say exactly how many people respect their symbols and what the number of those who underestimate the power of symbols in people’s lives is.
