Unemployment rate can be defined by either

the national definition, the ILO harmonized definition, or the OECD

harmonized definition. The OECD harmonized unemployment rate gives the number of unemployed persons as a percentage of the labor force (the total number of people employed plus unemployed).
As defined by the International Labour Organization, unemployed workers are those who are currently not working but are willing and able to work for pay, currently available to work, and have actively searched for work.

In February of 2010, there were approximately 7.9 million people employed in Kazakhstan.

According to the International Labour Organisation approximately

a half of the world’s population in age of 24 is unemployed. According to the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan the unemployed young people (in age from 15 to 24) constitutes 5.5 % of the state’s population, but, it is necessary to notice that this data cannot be reliable because the bigger amount of unemployed people are considered as self-employed which are accounted 48% of the employed population.

percent in the second quarter of 2012. Historically, from 2003

until 2012, Kazakhstan Unemployment Rate averaged 7.09 Percent reaching an all time high of 9.70 Percent in March of 2003 and a record low of 5.30 Percent in September of 2011. The unemployment rate can be defined as the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labour force.
