Слайд 3Moscow street is one of the oldest streets of Penza,

it appeared almost simultaneously with the appearance of the city

in the middle of the XVII century. The street started from the northern wall of the city fortress and descended down the hill through the posad. Initially, the street was called Spasskaya, since it began from the Spasskaya fortress tower, named after the nearby church. In connection with the growth of the urban suburb, where service people settled, the street became known as Bolshaya Posad. In the 18th century, it became the main street of Penza and they began to call it Moscow, as along this street through the Moscow outpost, which was located at the place where the railway crossing at the junction of Karakozov, Ogorodnaya and Proletarskaya streets now ran, went to Moscow

and with the passage of time this characteristic specialization of

it constantly deepened. It was on the Moscow Penza merchants began to build the first two-story houses in Penza. By 1863, Moskovskaya Street was completely paved. In 1905, the street was illuminated with electric lanterns. In the piedmont part of Moscow Street crossed the Market Square, forming a continuous trading rows. On this Moscow line of the Market Square, the Peter and Paul Church, decorated with blue tiles, was built on the money of the merchants (in the place of the church there is a residential building). On the same line, meat and fish passages were rebuilt, which became a true decoration of the city and have survived to the present.

serve as the main entrance to the city, since in

its northern part it was divided by a railway line. This contributed to the development of the lower part of the street by the rich merchants, who built prestigious apartment houses and mansions. By the beginning of the 20th century, almost every house housed a shop or other commercial enterprise: a hotel, a restaurant, a photo studio, a coffee shop, a pharmacy, etc.

At the end of the 20th century, a section of Moscow Street from Kuraev Street to Bakunin Street became a pedestrian zone. This made it possible to call the street "Penza Arbat." near 75 (House of the jeweler). The monument is a

jeweler in a nineteenth-century dress sitting on a chair, carefully examining the ring in his hand. On the table in front of him is a glass, at the table there is a figure of a cat. It is written on a piece of paper: "Dedicated to Lomonosov Vladimir Evgenievich."

The monument was opened on September 12, 2013 at 16.00 in honor of the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the founding of the city of Penza.

It is believed that if you run a finger through the ring, you will certainly meet your soul mate. According to another other legend, one should look through the ring in the eye of a jeweler, rub his shoe and make a wish that will surely come true.
