love, peace, freedom. Hippies believe that love is the most powerful thing that brings people together. To love people means accepting others as they are, giving them freedom to express themselves. They don’t hurt people, they are very peaceful. The way to peace is through love
A traditional hippie wears a pair of blue jeans, has long hair and chains. Hippies live in groups together and take drugs for pleasure.
Hippies are fond of listening to rock-and-roll which started in the USA. The earliest musicians were Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly and others. They mixed black music, white “country” music to create rock-and-roll .It is based on electric guitar and drums. It has strong loud beat and repeats a few simple phrases.
These days hippies participate in environmental protest actions and charity projects.

Nowadays there is some tension between punks. There are punks who are poor, live in garages and busk to buy some beer and food. They hate punks who earn money playing music professionally.
