Gregory Kapustin participated in expeditions which were
devoted to the search of minerals
From 1715 to 1723
he discovered gold, silver and other minerals and coal in Donetsk coal basin
This discovery gave rise to work on the geological development of Donetsk coal basin at the end of 1721
One of the parks and the monument in Makeyevka were named after Kapustin
This monument was opened in 1983

This monument was built
in 2008. It is one of the youngest monuments of
the city. Its opening was devoted to the seventieth anniversary of the Russian marshal and was followed by a ceremony in the presence of numerous delegations from Moscow and Kiev

In 10 years of fights 14 454 people died,
more than 50 thousand people were wounded, 6 669 soldiers and officers became disabled people.
In fights soldiers revealed the courage and heroism. 200 thousand "Afghans" have been noted by awards

During the War, the Germans
gathered in the big building a large group of children
who were made donors for their soldiers by force. They killed more than 300 children. There were a lot of casualties but the exact number is unknown.
In 2005 people erected this memorial
It is the only monument in the world for the children who were tortured by Germans
On stele you can see the names of only 120 children
