2. Переводится: есть, имеется, находится,

…, и никак не переводится

3. Переводить данную структуру необходимо с обстоятельства места или сказуемого
Пример:
There is a cat on the sofa.
На диване есть кошка.
На диване имеется кошка.
На диване находится кошка.
На диване лежит кошка.
На диване кошка.

значения, а вне структуры переводится как там.

2мя способами: 1. традиционный, с помощью отрицательной частицы NOT после

вспомогательного глагола.

There is a book on the table.

2. с помощью слова NO после вспомогательного глагола. В этом случае перед существительным убираются артикли, числительные.
There is a book on the table.
There is no book on the table.

т.е. на 1е место выносится вспомогательный глагол.
В кратком ответе ставится

There is (are)

Yes, there is
No, there is not

или неопределённый артикль (a). Значение у них одинаковое: с исчисляемыми

существительными значение «несколько», с неисчисляемыми существительными - значение «некоторое количество» или не переводится никак
