- listen to your partner carefully too, because the examiner can ask you the same question afterwards and you should not say the same thing.

the exam makes almost everybody nervous, so you may use

some phrases to give yourself a few seconds to think over your answer:
- That‘s a good/interesting question…
- Well…
- Let me think…
I have never thought about it, but I suppose…

- Be relevant and avoid giving unnecessary

information
- Expand your answer: always give the reason WHY and use examples

conditionals, words for emphasis (so, really), conjunctions (because, and), complex

linking words (although, however, on the other hand)

- Show your wide vocabulary, using different phrases and adjectives, complex words, advanced vocabulary (idioms, phrasal verbs, collocations)

say politely:
- Please could you repeat that?
- Could

you say that again, please?

You may also be asked a question which you don’t really know how to answer, so you may say:
- I have never thought about it actually. I absolutely have no idea, sorry.
*But of course, you should anyway say something, just use your fantasy, your sense of humour and try to make some suggestions.
