Слайд 1A Day in the Life
Mountain View Tech Class
Слайд 2An Average Morning Routine
We wake up anytime between 6:45 and
8:10 AM. Students eat breakfast, pack a lunch, and walk,
take the bus, or have their parents drive them to school.
Our school starts at 8:25 AM.
Some students may have to wake up early to come in and make up work, or participate in Zero Period ( where band and orchestra students go to practice early).
Слайд 3School Classes
All students have to take the core classes (math,
language arts, social studies/history, and science). We also have related
arts. Every student has to take a language (spanish and chinese).
5th and 6th graders must take a music their first two years (band, orchestra, or chorus). 5th and 6th graders have an option to take Industrial Arts, Art, or Tech.
Once someone is in 7th or 8th grade, they now have the option to drop a music, as well as take Woodshop, Global Collaborations, Audio/Video Production, Games and Animation, 3D Art, 2D art, and all 7th and 8th graders can try out for the advanced musics (Mountain View Singers, Advanced Band, Advanced Orchestra.
Слайд 4Meals
We eat breakfast at home, and this food could be
cereal with milk, a bagel with butter or cream cheese,
pancakes, eggs and bacon, an english muffin, toast with butter or jam.
The seventh and eighth graders eat lunch at about 12:20, and it ends around 1 PM. Students can bring lunch from home or buy lunch from the cafeteria.
Most people will eat dinner from anywhere between 5PM and 7PM, but some eat even later.
Слайд 5Free Time in Mendham
A lot of students spend their time
playing with friends or playing sports.
Some do dance, play an
instrument, or do other activities wherein they are required to perform, so a lot of people practice in their free time.
There is not much to do directly in our town, so most people go out of Mendham to do things.
Слайд 6Technology In & Out of School
We have lots of technology
in our school. In the tech lab where this class
is held, we have 26 computers. In our library, we have 24. We also have about 10 chromebook carts, each with about 21 chromebooks. We have 4 macs in the art room, and 3 in the chorus room.
We also have iPads for art, so that students can take photos to edit and manipulate for class.
Слайд 7Rituals & Traditions
Some of the traditions in our school include
the Flag Day Ceremony, Graduation, the end-of-year dance for the
5th & 6th grades, as well the end-of-year picnic for the 7th and 8th grades. The 8th graders also have the Cotillion (a dance) and a 3-Day trip to Washington DC. The 6th graders also have a trip called the “Environmental Education Trip”, which is basically them spending a day outside at a camp.
Some rituals we have here are the daily announcements. These happen every day right after the school day starts. They start with the pledge of allegiance, and then move on to an inspirational quote and the explanation of that quote. Then the lunch menu of the day is said, they then say any sports games and the scores, the practices that are after school, and finally any clubs after school.
