Lermontovskaya Street. You can read:
“The Russian scientist A.N.Ladigin lived in
this house in 1859 - 1865 . He invented the incandescent lamp.”

A.N.Ladigin
was born in 1847 in the village of Stenshino, Тambov
region. His parents: Nicolay Ivanovich and Varvara Alexandrovna were not rich. They were noblemen.In 1859 Alexander entered Tambov cadet school. In 1861 all the family moved to Tambov.

He worked at Tulskiy
plant and invented a flying construction. When he came to
St.Petersburg he began his experiences with the incandescent lamps. Alexander Nicolaevich worked with the project of a divering construction.

1874 the Academy of Science gave him Lomonosov’s reward.

He decided to go abroad. He lived there 23 years

that such talented people haven’t got any opportunity to work in Russia. We are proud of Ladigin.
