made the hole where the chariot rode the winner, a
break in the same day, patched to Olympic victory, entered the city and never left.

decree prohibiting the further carrying out of the Olympic games.
The Emperor adopted Christianity and decided to eradicate anti-Christian games, glorifying the pagan gods.
