In the 90th years of last century, the university, like all higher education institutions of the country, had a hard time because of poor funding. At the same time it was renamed Saint Petersburg State University. Today, St. Petersburg State University continues to maintain its scientific and cultural values and provide the highest class training

Scientific and practical research faculty members deserve appreciation for including far beyond Russia. That's why our faculty is one of the most prestigious international organizations - APSIA - which brings together about 30 international universities and educational centers. Participation in this organization means that the quality of education in our department with the highest international standards, recognition of merit of analytical capabilities of faculty and prospects for its growth and development in international relations, regional studies and information studies. At the faculty regularly attend interesting conferences and workshops several times a month at the faculty serve foreign lecturers and representatives of political parties and organizations of Russia and the world.
